Ask for a vacation package quote and the first thing that comes back is not a price. It is what the conditions did in that place in that month, in numbers.
Name a month and you get a number back
Most agencies answer a month with an adjective. Lovely. Shoulder season. A good time to go.
The answer here is a number: how many days it rained in that month across the years there is record for, how often the wind ran above the threshold that stops the boat, what the cloud did at the hour that matters. Then the price.
Sometimes that number sends people to a different month, or a different trip, and that is the point of printing it.
- A month, or two
- The single biggest lever on both the price and the odds
- Which of the four levels you can live with
- Rain costing an afternoon, one set piece exposed, half the itinerary exposed, or the whole reason for going
- The party
- How many, and how old, since a quad room and a two-berth cabin solve entirely different problems
- A rough ceiling
- Nobody is marking you. It decides which class of room the operators get asked about, and that single choice is where most of the range sits
Nothing on this site tells you when somebody is at a desk, because that is not the number you need. Send a request at whatever hour suits and it is read before the day is out. What takes longer is a figure, and longer still is the part that matters here: somebody has to go and read what conditions actually did in that place in that month. Two to four working days covers both, and where an operator is what stretches it, the operator gets named.
What follows the click
- A note backThe same day it lands
- The oddsBefore the price, and in writing. If your month is the wrong month for what you want, that is the first thing said
- The askingTwo to four working days, on the operators' clock rather than ours
- The proposalWho runs it, which exact days, the odds said again, a full per-person number, and the running firm's own cancellation terms clipped to the back
- Nothing elseNo card request, no deposit link, no figure counting down, and no run of reminders
